Technical purpose of product or process This concrete is manufactured in accordance with AS 1379:2007(2017) Specification and supply of concrete with a strength grade of S65 MPa evaluated at 28 days. The concrete is sampled and tested according to AS 1012 Methods of testing concrete. This product is part of Boral's tremie range. A tremie mix is a highly workable, cohesive concrete mix designed to be placed underwater using a tremie pipe. Segregation of aggregates and washout of cement presents a significant engineering challenge in these conditions. Tremie mixes mitigate these by using a higher level of cement compared conventional concrete to bind the aggregates to the mortar paste . The ratio of aggregates is also carefully proportioned to ensure a homogenous mixture. Furthemore, tremie mixes must be workable for a minimum of 3-4 hours, this is acheived through the use of retarding admixtures and plasticisers. Tremie mixes are used for placing structural elements underwater or in marine conditions, such as piling, deep foundations, diaphragm walls, and cut-off walls.
